He found things that other people wouldn\u2019t think of finding in there,\u201d Dylan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interferenza.net\/bcs\/interw\/florida.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>. In fact, it inspired him to rework the original to more closely match the Hendrix reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Said the Joker to the Thief<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Jimi Hendrix Experience - All Along The Watchtower (Official Audio)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TLV4_xaYynY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Released in 1968, <em>Electric Ladyland<\/em> was the third and final release by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. \u201cAll Along The Watchtower\u201d, in the guitarist\u2019s hands and voice, explodes with the fury of humans\u2019 struggle to navigate justice and disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThere must be some way out of here,\u201d said the joker to the thief.<br>\u201cThere\u2019s too much confusion; I can\u2019t get no relief.<br>Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,<br>None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Balancing an underdog anthem with nihilism, Dylan\u2019s verses foreshadow a kind of reckoning, punctuated by the wailing blues of Hendrix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cNo reason to get excited,\u201d the thief, he kindly spoke.<br>\u201cThere are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.<br>But you and I, we\u2019ve been through that, and this is not our fate,<br>So let us not talk falsely now; the hour is getting late.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Wind Began To Howl<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bob Dylan - All Along the Watchtower (Official Audio)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bT7Hj-ea0VE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dylan\u2019s folk-rock original appears on his 1967 album, <em>John Wesley Harding.<\/em> Following the release of <em>Blonde On Blonde<\/em>, he had been holed up for months, recording with The Band in West Saugerties, New York, amassing the now-iconic demos, later released as <em>The Basement Tapes<\/em> in 1975.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this prolific period, he emerged with a separate batch of songs that made up <em>John Wesley Harding<\/em>, which was recorded in Nashville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Hendrix had planned to record <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dF-FY8rqA1I\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cI Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine\u201d<\/a>.
