Ahead of an appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend, Mumford & Sons<\/a> played a surprise unplugged show in Brooklyn, New York, last night. The group performed new songs and a few classics at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Ahead of the last-minute gig, the group posted a note on Instagram<\/a>, which read “Music Hall of Williamsburg. 8 pm. X.” In a video also posted to Instagram<\/a>, singer Marcus Mumford<\/a> told the crowd they had just found out four hours prior that the venue was available that night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mumford & Sons Released a New Album on February 20<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mumford & Sons’ new album “Prizefighter” features multiple collaborations. The album’s lead single “Rubber Band Man”<\/a> features Irish singer Hozier. “Here” features Nashville country star Chris Stapleton. Pop singer Gracie Abrams joins the band on the song “Badlands,” and Gigi Perez joins on “Icarus.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the last-minute unplugged show, the band performed new songs such as “Rubber Band Man,” “The Banjo Song,” and “Here,” as well as classics such as “The Cave” and “Awake My Soul.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, Mumford & Sons released their first album in seven years, Rushmere<\/em>. This was the first album after the departure of longtime banjo player Winston Marshall in 2021. The album’s lead single, “Rushmere,” <\/em>hit No. 1 the Billboard<\/em> Alternative Airplay chart, their first single to do so in six years<\/a>. Rushmere<\/em> peaked at No. 2 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, the Americana\/Folk Albums chart, and the Top Rock Albums chart as well. The 2025 album was a No. 1 in the UK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizefighter<\/em> is currently competing for the top spot on the UK Official Albums chart. It was announced earlier this week that Prizefighter<\/em> is leading for the No. 1 spot on the UK chart<\/a> and could secure the top spot by the end of the week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Band Will Be Performing on SNL This Weekend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Actor Connor Storrie will be hosting Saturday Night Live on February 28. Mumford & Sons will be performing as the musical guests. Storrie stars in the new hit television show “Heated Rivalry” and will be hosting SNL for the first time.
