  • The Finatticz is a Hip-Hop group who hail from the eastside of Los Angeles. They comprise James "Killa F" Dunn, Tyrone "Jayarah The Truth" Revis, Darrel "Nyce" Beason Jr.and Anthony "Ez The Great" Brown.
  • "Thun Thun" is a term used in the Bay area that refers to a small tablet in the form of the street drug MDM. The hook basically means "take that molly pill."
  • The song's beat was created by Compton-based rapper and producer Tycuan "Payso B" Williams who is signed to singer Ray J's music label, Knockout Entertainment.
  • The song was first recorded by the crew in 15 minutes in 2009 and got its first spins at a house party. Killa F recalled to LA Weekly: "I remember we recorded it during the day, and that night we played it for a huge party at my girl O Titty's house. Everyone told us to turn it up!"

    The tune began building organically then a remix featuring Tyga was dropped in February 2012. Soon after, Payso B played it for Ray J, who brought the track to the attention of Alan Grunblatt, who is the President of eOne Music. The label signed The Finatticz to a single deal, with an album option.
