  • Lyrics
  • The American Electro Hop duo LMFAO released this tongue-in-cheek party song as their follow-up to "Champagne Showers." The song finds SkyBlu and Redfoo rapping about how girls can't resist their unorthodox style in a comically boastful manner similar to Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" 20 years previously.
  • Redfoo gave his definition of sexy to MTV News: "Sexy is confidence. It's 'I don't care what other people think, but I want them to think I'm sexy at the same time,' " he explained. "It's a Catch-22. I want to be seen. Sexy is you want attention and you gotta have moves. You gotta have moves, whether it be in the bedroom [or] on the dance floor — just the way you walk, the way you talk."
  • The music video was shot in late August 2011 and features Redfoo and some of LMFAO's usual Party Rock crew dancing around town in Speedos in front of some girls. Simon Rex from What I Like About You, Wilmer Valderrama from That 70s Show and porn actor Ron Jeremy all have cameos in the clip.
  • This was LMFAO's second consecutive #1 single on the Hot 100 following "Party Rock Anthem." In doing so, Redfoo and SkyBlu became the first duo to achieve back-to-back chart-toppers since OutKast ruled with "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move," in late 2003 and early 2004.
  • This was the fourth Hot 100 #1 with the word sexy in its title. Can you name the previous three? They were:
1979 "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" by Rod Stewart.
1992 "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred.
    2006 "SexyBack" by Justin Timberlake.
  • The song is Redfoo's take on people who believe they are attractive when really they aren't. "That was my main inspiration for 'Sexy and I Know It'; people who obviously think they are but by normal standards are not, like the hairy old men in a Speedo on the beach with huge bellies, sunglasses and a cigar," he told The Big Issue. "France really inspired 'Sexy and I Know It,"' Redfoo added laughing.
