  • In pitch dark
I go walking in your landscape
    Broken branches
    Trip me as I speak

    Just 'cause you feel it
    Doesn't mean it's there
    Just 'cause you feel it
    Doesn't mean it's there

    There's always a siren
    Singing you to shipwreck
(Don't reach out, don't reach out
Don't reach out, don't reach out)
    Steer away from each rocks
    We'd be a walking disaster
(Don't reach out, don't reach out
Don't reach out, don't reach out)

    Just 'cause you feel it
    Doesn't mean it's there
    (Someone on your shoulder
    Someone on your shoulder)
    Just 'cause you feel it
    Doesn't mean it's there
    (Someone on your shoulder
    Someone on your shoulder)
    There there!

    Why so green and lonely?
    Lonely, lonely?

    Heaven sent you to me
    To me, to me?

    We are accidents waiting
    Waiting to happen

    We are accidents waiting

  • Mike from New Yorkalways liked this song, but then as i was in the throes of a midlife crisis, it REALLY spoke to me. I was at that time an accident waiting to happen in the truest sense of the form, and surrounded by sirens. And the title was such a slap to reality - "there there" as if you're a young child, you don't know better but need some consoling
  • Ahmad from Tehran, IranOne of the best songs I've heard in my life.
  • Victoria from Memphis, TnMy favorite Radiohead song:) Fave video along with "Knives out".
  • Jon from West Bend, IaI have to agree with the "fact" on this song. I feel it's about illusions, delusions, etc. and Thom is warning "you" about them. It's also one of my favorite songs of all time, I can't explain why, but it just sounds right to me. Especially the chorus with backing vocals.
  • Nasruddin from Cochrane, CanadaPersonally, I can't see Pete's point about this song being about a one night stand, but perhaps that's the meaning behind another Radiohead song "Nude". To me, the song is all about living in delusions, and how we can all be lured into our own private worlds (there's always a siren singing in a shipwreak). The surrealist look of the video seems to agree with this.
  • Jimi from Reno, NvOne of the best tracks on Hail to the Thief.
  • Max from Sydney, AustraliaActully the video has alot to do with the songs concept.

In the video, thom starts seeing theese weird things like.

    Cats getting married (?)
Little mouses having a big dinner
etc etc ( un usual things)

Then, thom finds a magic coat and shoes, ans starts to get attacked by ravens. then he turns into a tree.
  • Max from Sydney, Australiathis song was on on of the triple j (jjj) albums. i heard this before i even knew radiohead, and it appeared on my mp3 player. i was like "hey i know this song.." but i couldn't remember it..now i know
  • Pete from Wheaton, MdYea, it's basically like be wary of thinking a one night stand is anything more.
