4 Albums That Have Topped Billboard 200 in 2026 So Far

Only four months into the year, 2026 has already seen remarkable releases. Topping the Billboard 200 chart is an amazing feat for any artist or band, one that is not easy. These artists have made it look easy as they’ve broken records and set the bar high for future releases. With the return of some groups and the continued success of some, here are 4 albums that have topped the Billboard 200 chart in 2026 so far.

Taylor Swift – ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’

Taylor Swift‘s The Life Of A Showgirl debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on October 18, 2025. It spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 and was the top album of 2025, breaking records. The album sold a historic 4 million units, and remained at No. 1 going into 2026. It became Taylor Swift’s 15th No. 1 album and broke the record for the most No. 1 albums by a solo artist. The first single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as reaching No. 1 in numerous other countries. “Opalite” was the second single released, also reaching No. 1 on the Hot 100. A third single, titled “Elizabeth Taylor,” was released on March 9 and peaked at No. 3.

Megadeth – ‘Megadeth’

On January 23, 2026, Megadeth released their final studio album. The self-titled album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It marks the first time the legendary metal band had reached No. 1 on the chart. In 1992, they nearly reached the top spot with Countdown To Extinction, peaking at No. 2. In total, Megadeth has penned 23 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. The final album was produced by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine himself, along with Chris Rakestraw. It contains the singles “Tipping Point,” “I Don’t Care,” “Let There Be Shred,” and “Puppet Parade.”

Additionally, a bonus track was included, a reimagined version of Metallica’s “Ride The Lightning.” The track was included since Dave Mustaine is credited as a co-writer on the song. Dave Mustaine was the original guitarist in Metallica, and he had presented multiple future tracks to the band before he departed from the group. It was Mustaine’s departure from Metallica that led him to create Megadeth in 1983.

In total, Bad Bunny has earned four No. 1 albums on the chart. The album also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. “DTMF” was the fourth single released from the album and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, the group live-streamed a comeback concert on Netflix on March 22, along with a new documentary marking their return. It’s the most recent on this list to hit the Billboard 200 and currently holds the top spot on the chart. They’ve sold 641,000 units of ARIRANG, and the album’s lead single, “Swim,” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. They have dominated the global charts as well, ahead of a highly anticipated world tour. ARIRANG has set records that will be hard to compete with for the rest of the year, setting the bar high.
