Following her breakthrough hit, “Boston”, Stella Lefty has released a new single. Released on July 3, the new single is included in the extended version of her new EP, Is This Heaven? The new song details why her previous relationships haven’t worked out. She takes the blame and admits she’s good at leaving. She’s become used to recognizing when things are ending, noting when she gets in her head as a signal.
‘Cause I’m good at leaving for no good reason
I get in my head, in my head
And at first, I’m falling, then I’m not calling
I get in my head, in my head
I’m good at leaving.
Lefty may be talking about the same relationship as her hit, “Boston.” In the opening lines of “Boston”, Lefty sings, “On the train back to Boston and we’re jumpin’ the gun / And I’m tellin’ you baby, this is the part where I’d run / But I like it when you’re nice, like it when you’re nice to me.” She references this as the part where she normally runs, as she’s good at leaving.
Within these songs, she’s indicating growth and learning lessons. In “Good At Leaving”, this is indicated in the line “I’m just looking for someone to make me stay.” She’s learning to get out of her own head and allow herself to heal and love again. It just takes the right person to do so.
“Good At Leaving” Is Expected to Chart Well Following Recent Live Performances
The new song has become a fan favorite following recent performances. Lefty appeared at CMA Fest in Nashville and will perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August. She’s currently on a tour in the UK, performing in London before performances in Dublin and Amsterdam.
“Good At Leaving” is expected to chart well in the coming weeks, as it’s perfectly timed as a follow-up to her breakthrough “Boston”. The song was announced on Lefty’s Instagram, with a caption that read, “good at leaving OUT NOW!!! i lurv this song and i hope u do toooo.” Lefty’s fun and carefree personality, mixed with standout performances and spectacular songwriting, puts her in a position for continued success.
