In 2019, Wilco released their eleventh studio album, Ode To Joy. The legendary indie rock group received generally positive reviews following the release. Ode To Joy peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Americana/Folk Albums and the Independent Albums chart. Two singles were released: “Love Is Everywhere (Beware)” and “Everyone Hides.” The sentimental track, “Love Is Everywhere (Beware),” is a gentle song about how you choose to take in love. It’s become a fan favorite among other sentimental and personal Jeff Tweedy songs throughout his catalog. Wilco fans often attach themselves to Tweedy’s distinct sensibilities, guided by his personal and reflective lyrics.
In a 2020 interview with BUILDseriesNYC, Jeff Tweedy discussed “Love Is Everywhere (Beware).” “That song probably, actually, started somewhere around the first Women’s March. After the inauguration. I remember feeling very uplifted in marching with hundreds of thousands of people, and feeling un-alone. Feeling that there was a connection, and people paying attention. At the same time, I had a panic attack that day. That this wasn’t going to be enough. So that’s what that song’s kind of about.”
So tangled in the wild / Seeing myself is something more mean
Out in the country / Sadness wants me further away from the sea
Right now, right now
Love is everywhere
Right now, right now
Love is everywhere
Trampled By Turtles Release Their Rendition Featuring Jeff Tweedy
On June 26, 2026, Trampled By Turtles released their own version of the song with Jeff Tweedy. The Minnesota-based Trampled By Turtles pairs well with Chicago-based Jeff Tweedy on this rendition. It gives the song new life, as the two pair well together.
Where the sunlight grabs the lake
It’s frozen in the flames
Beneath the sleeping town
With the riots raining down
It’s all yours now, it’s all for you
In an Instagram post, Trampled By Turtles singer Dave Simonett stated, “We were honored to work with Jeff Tweedy, a songwriter who holds all of our admiration, on a version of his great song, “Love Is Everywhere.” We’ve always enjoyed reimagining songs we love, but to be able to do it with the guy who wrote it was a real pleasure. We’re thankful that Jeff is such an open-minded, creative force. We could all use a little more of that, I think.”
