The Meaning Behind “Camera” by Charli XCX and How the Pop Star Navigates the Spotlight

In “Camera”, Charli XCX grapples with life in the spotlight. It’s a vulnerable take on the allure of fame and the anxiety that accompanies stardom. Anything That I Want To Be

“I can be anything that I want to be,” she sings. It’s also a freedom from the pop star persona of Charli XCX. And perhaps it’s a way back to Charlotte Aitchison. Ultimately, it’s Charli’s way of defining who she is and who she wants to be going forward.
