With his latest release, Drake has broken the record for the most No. 1s by a solo male artist. That’s a record that was long held by Michael Jackson.
The song “Janice STFU”, from his new trilogy of albums, debuted at No. 1 on this week’s Hot 100. It gave Drake his 14th song at the top of the charts and broke his tie with Michael Jackson. Drake initially tied Jackson in 2023 with the single “First Person Shooter” in which Drake references the record in the final verse, rapping, “I’m one away from Michael.” Jackson set the record back in 1995 with “You Are Not Alone”.
Drake is now tied with Taylor Swift and Rihanna for the most No. 1 singles. He’s still a few singles away from breaking the record for the most No. 1 hits in U.S. history. That one belongs to The Beatles, with 20.
Drake’s Trilogy Has Broken Other Records
It’s not the first time Drake has broken one of Jackson’s records. In 2016, Drake’s album, Views, was nominated for 13 American Music Awards, breaking Jackson’s record of 11 for Thriller in 1984. In 2018, Drake surpassed Jackson’s cumulative time spent at No. 1, with 38 weeks. The career record is held by Mariah Carey, who has a cumulative 79 weeks at the top.
Drake’s trilogy—Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti—has broken other records this week. The albums debuted in the top three spots, making him the first artist to hold all three spots simultaneously. In addition, nine of the Top 10 songs belong to the rapper, with Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” in the middle of the list at No. 5. This brings Drake’s total number of Top 10 hits to 90. Drake also currently has 42 songs on the Hot 100 at one time, breaking Morgan Wallen’s record of 37 in 2025. Drake’s 2023 release For All The Dogs saw similar success, with all 23 tracks landing in the top 50 on the singles chart.
And finally, Drake has also now become the first artist ever to have over 400 songs chart during his career.
Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti were all released on May 15.
