My Chemical Romance Announces Deluxe 15th Anniversary Edition of ‘Danger Days’

On November 22, 2010, My Chemical Romance released their fourth studio album, Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys. The album set the band apart from previous albums, such as The Black Parade, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, and their debut, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. At this point in the band’s career, they pushed into a different, more colorful direction. The band was known for their dark-edged, theatrically emo sound.

For their fourth album, the band branched into lighter themes, with a more glam rock and power pop direction. It was a concept album, but again, not as dark as The Black Parade or the band’s previous conceptual releases. It was set in a post-apocalyptic California in 2019, with a fictional band, The Killjoys, fighting against an evil corporation. Danger Days debuted and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and marked My Chemical Romance’s final full-length album before their 2013 breakup.

On October 31, 2019, My Chemical Romance Announced Their Return

My Chemical Romance performed their reunion show on December 20, 2019 at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Initially, they intended to tour in 2020, but the COVID19 pandemic brought those plans to a halt. Ultimately, the tour was rescheduled, and the band toured extensively throughout 2022 and 2023. In 2022, the band released their first song in eight years titled “The Foundations Of Decay.”

In 2025, they embarked on their Long Live The Black Parade Tour, playing the iconic album in its entirety. The 10-date tour ran from July 11 to September 13, 2025, with special guests such as Alice Coops, Garbage, and Death Cab For Cutie. The tour returns in 2026, moving over to the UK and Europe for a string of shows. In August, the tour returns to the US with dates scheduled in Nashville, Detroit, Denver, and Los Angeles. During all of this, the deluxe edition of Danger Days will be released on July 10.

What To Expect With The Deluxe 15th Anniversary Edition Release on July 10

The band teased the announcement through their Instagram page on May 13, stirring excitement among fans. They shared a graphic that included a portion of the album’s artwork with a “XV,” the Roman numeral for 15. A caption that simply stated, “Tomorrow,” was included in the post. On May 14, the band posted, “Just over 15 years ago, we released a record we’re really proud of, called ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys.’ Today, we are announcing the release of the 15-year deluxe edition of it. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. It’s just as exciting a ride through the strange and reckless apocalypse as it was back then. The future is bulletproof. The aftermath is secondary.”

The final line of the announcement quotes the lead single “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)” from the Danger Days album. My Chemical Romance is previewing the album with a live version of the track, recorded for BBC Radio 1.

The 15th anniversary deluxe edition of Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys will include various formats such as picture disc, zoetrope, and color vinyl variants. It’s set for release on July 10, with preorders available through the band’s website. Additionally, the reissue features a remastering of the album, nine bonus tracks, and reimagined artwork. Some of the bonus tracks include their three-song EP Mad Gear And The Missile Kid, originally included in the California 2019 Box Set.
