Lisa Becomes an Action Hero in Cinematic New Song “Tarantino”

You might already be aware of Lisa’s new EP, Press Play, thanks to the Blackpink singer’s infectious hit, “SaWaDiKa”. But on her latest single, “Tarantino”, Lisa keeps both the volume and intensity dialed up as she adopts the persona of a fearless action star.

This is Lisa looking at Hollywood to craft a bluster anthem that also celebrates her Thai culture.

I Got ‘Kill Bill’ Demeanor

Lisa assumes the assassin vibes of Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. She has swagger; she’s the boss, and chills whilst speeding away in a muscle car. (Thurman stars in Kill Bill as an elite assassin called The Bride who seeks revenge on her former team.)

Got my nails really long like the barrel of my gun,
And my lipstick all over your face.
I’m a boss, I’m a don when I’m driving to the sun,
It’s a movie, baby, come and press play.
Tarantino, Tarantino,
Got my feet hanging out the Camino
.

In a kind of hip-hop braggadocio, Lisa cranks the tunes, causes a ruckus, and keeps the audience tuned in for what’s next. It’s a vivid metaphor for pop dominance as Lisa asserts her own voice outside Blackpink, one of the best-selling girl groups in history.

I got ‘Kill Bill’ demeanor, mustard all on my sneakers,
Pulling up to the motel, baby, turn up the speakers.
Catch me causing a scene here right outside the convenience,
Hold my gold chain, baby, you can stay for the teaser
.

Death Proof, Baby

Co-written by Lisa, Thom Bridges, and Christian Astrop, “Tarantino” began as an idea on a mood board. The action-star posture gets its soundtrack via Lisa’s Thai roots by way of a fuzzy guitar riff that propels the hypnotic track—produced by Bridges and Beau Nox.

And there’s more fearlessness below as Lisa completes her own death-defying stunts.

Death proof, baby, I do all my own stunts,
F-you, baby, like a razor on my tongue.
Black suit, fast food, take me out to lunch,
At the drive-thru, Thai funk, shaking out the trunk
.

Press Play arrived on October 23, 2026. It follows Lisa’s 2025 solo debut, Alter Ego.
