2026 Grammys in Memoriam to Honor Music Icons Ozzy Osbourne, D’Angelo, and Roberta Flack

Ms. Lauryn Hill will be performing at the 2026 Grammy Awards in honor of R&B icons D’Angelo and Roberta Flack. Both Hill and Flack share a No. 1 hit with the song “Killing Me Softly with His Song”. Roberta Flack earned the number one hit with the song in 1973. Nearly two decades later in 1996, the Fugees with Ms. Lauryn Hill earned a number one hit with their version. Flack won the 1974 Grammy for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Flack passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 88.

Ms. Lauryn Hill Pays Tribute to D’Angelo

Ms. Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo collaborated on the song “Nothing Even Matters” from Hill’s 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. After D’Angelo’s death in October 2025, Hill paid tribute to her contemporary on X, thanking D’Angelo for being a “beacon of light”.

The evening will also feature a tribute to rock icon Ozzy Osbourne with performances by Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Red Hot Chili Pepper’s drummer Chad Smith, and Guns ‘n’ Roses members Duff McKagen, and Slash. Post Malone collaborated with Osbourne in 2019 with the song “Take What You Want” and then again later on “It’s A Raid” from Osbournes 2020 album Ordinary Man.

On January 28, The Recording Academy announced on Instagram that Reba McEntire will honor “the friends we lost along the way” teaming up with Brandy Clark, and Lukas Nelson. McEntire stated that it’s “an honor” to share the stage with Clark and Nelson, though there’s no word on what the trio will perform together.
