Ariana Grande Announces New Album, ‘Petal’

Pop star Ariana Grande has shared that her eighth studio album will be out this summer.

In an Instagram post featuring the album’s artwork, Grande shared it’s titled Petal and is scheduled for release in July. She co-wrote and executive-produced the album, along with Iranian-Swedish producer ILYA, who has collaborated with Grande many times in the past.

Grande described the album in a statement as “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”

Grande previously hinted new material may be coming after posting a photo of herself in the recording studio.

The new music comes after Grande’s Oscar-nominated role as Glinda the Good in Wicked and Wicked: For Good. Her last album, Eternal Sunshine, was released in 2024 and spawned the chart-topping hits โ€œYes, And?โ€ and “We Canโ€™t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” The album was also nominated for three Grammy Awards, including for Best Pop Vocal Album, and Grande later released a deluxe edition, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead.

In addition to new music, Grande has continued to pursue an acting career and will appear in the upcoming 13th season of American Horror Story and Meet the Parents sequel Focker-in-Law.

Grande will also head out on her Eternal Sunshine Tour, kicking off in June and running until Sept. 1. It will be her first tour her Sweetener World Tour in 2019, but she’s also hinted at a desire to slow down.

“The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up,โ€ she said last year in an appearance on Amy Poehlerโ€™s “Good Hangโ€ podcast. โ€œI donโ€™t want to say anything definitive. I do know that Iโ€™m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time. Iโ€™m going to give it my all and itโ€™s going to be beautiful. I think thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m doing it because Iโ€™m like, โ€˜One last hurrah!โ€™โ€

Petal will be released July 31 via BabyDoll Music, part of Republic Records. It is currently available for pre-order, including on CD, cassette, and cloud-gray or pearl-white vinyl.
