The sensational K-pop group BTS is set to release their tenth studio album ARIRANG on March 20. This will be the group’s first album in three years, marking a full-group comeback. Admirably, all seven members completed their mandatory military service as of June 2025. Although the group has been on military hiatus since 2022, members of the group have released solo music in recent years. The new album will feature 14 tracks, with creative contributions from each member. It will contain themes of resilience and Korean identity. The album features guest artists such as Diplo, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, and Kevin Parker of Tame Impala.
In North America, the album will drop at 9 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET on all major streaming platforms. Along with the new album, a single titled “Swim” will also be released on March 20.
On March 21, BTS will perform for the first time as a complete group since 2022. They will take the stage in Seoul at the historic Gwanghwamun Square. The concert is expected to draw 260,000 fans. Additionally, the one-hour performance will air worldwide on Netflix, with a start time at 7 a.m. ET on March 22 for North American fans. Starting in April, BTS will embark on an 8-month world tour supporting ARIRANG, running until March 2027. It is expected to be a record-breaking tour, reaching a projected 5.12 million fans in 88+ performances.
A New Documentary Will Follow The New Album and Comeback Concert
Coinciding with the release of ARIRANG and the comeback performance, a documentary called BTS: The Return will be released on March 27. The documentary will cover the making of the new album and the comeback of the K-pop group. Additionally, the film covers the history of the group and their journey to becoming global pop stars.
A synopsis for the new film states: “After completing South Koreaโs mandatory military service, the seven members reunite in Los Angeles to make music together, returning to a shared creative space shaped by time apart and personal change. As millions of fans await the comeback of the decade, BTS confronts quieter questions: how to begin again, how to honor the past without being bound by it, and how to move forward together.”
“Through moments of doubt, laughter, and rediscovery, they create new music that reflects who they are nowโculminating in what will become a landmark album of its time. Intimate, emotional, and often joyful, BTS: THE RETURN is a story of resilience, brotherhood, and reinvention.”
As of 2023, BTS is the best-selling musical act in South Korean history. Following the comeback concert in Seoul, BTS will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 25 and 26.
