Kelly Clarkson doesn’t intend to stop making music anytime soon.
According to People, Clarkson “still wants to make music and perform, and she’s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind.”
Clarkson recently announced that this season of The Kelly Clarkson Show, her daytime talk show, will be the last and will run through the fall of 2026, marking seven seasons. The show first began in 2019, and in its seven years on the air, it has been nominated for 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for Best Daytime Talk Series and four for Clarkson herself as Best Talk Show Host.
Clarkson Speaks Out
“This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she said in an Instagram post. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
The announcement came after rumors and speculation that the show is nearing its end, as well as the death of Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in August 2025. Clarkson’s post also addressed her plans for the future.
“I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time โฆ you never know where I might show up next,” she wrote.
Clarkson spent multiple seasons serving as a judge on reality singing competition The Voice. During her time on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she has also released two albums, When Christmas Comes Around and Chemistry. She also performed on the show frequently, most notably as part of the “Kellyoke” series, which is popular across social media and often features her singing songs by other artists from across the musical spectrum, highlighting her vocal talent and range.
Clarkson began her career when she became the very first winner of American Idol and remains one of the show’s most famous contestants. Although she has not announced any definite plans for new music anytime soon, she is set to resume her Las Vegas residency in July.
