Ringo Starr Set To Release His Third Country Album Titled ‘Long Long Road’

Aside from being the most commercially successful band in history, each member of The Beatles had a successful solo career. As The Beatles, all four members sang on iconic tracks and brought their own styles to the group. One thing that always set Ringo Starr apart was his love for country music. Starr’s cover of Buck Owens’ “Act Naturally” on 1965’s Help! moved the group into different genres. Additionally, Starr contributed lead vocals and co-wrote “What Goes On,” a country-style track from Rubber Soul in 1965. And in 1968, Ringo penned “Don’t Pass Me By” on The White Album, continuing his country style.

It was no surprise when Ringo Starr released a country album in 1970 called Beaucoups Of Blues. The album was recorded in Nashville, with contributions from artists like Charlie Daniels and Jerry Reed. Legendary pedal steel guitarist Pete Drake produced the record, who had previously worked with Bob Dylan. That same year, Pete Drake contributed pedal steel to George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass.

In 2025, Ringo Starr released his second country album. Look Up hit No. 1 on the UK Country Album chart, and peaked at No. 147 on the Billboard 200. Starr once again recorded the album in Nashville, bringing in modern country artists to contribute. Artists such as Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucius, Molly Tuttle, and Paul Franklin played on the album. On February 21, Ringo made his historic debut at the Grand Ole Opry. It was part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Grand Ole Opry. Starr performed “Time On My Hands” from his 2025 album, and also his iconic cover of “Act Naturally.”

Starr’s Third Country Album Releases on April 24

To no one’s surprise, Ringo Starr again recorded his newest country album in Nashville. Long Long Road is a collaboration effort with producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett. Burnett either wrote or co-wrote six tracks on the album. Billy Strings makes another guest appearance after contributing to the 2025 album Look Up. Other guest appearances include Sheryl Crow, St Vincent, Molly Tuttle, and Sarah Jarosz.

The first single was released on March 3, titled “It’s Been Too Long.” A second single titled “Choose Love” was released on April 3, 2026. It was a re-recording from his 2005 album Choose Love. Starr is still building his legacy, recording and touring at the age of 85. Ringo Starr & His All-Star Band continues to tour, with a lineup that now includes Colin Hay, Steve Lukather, Warren Hay, Hamish Stuart, Greg Bissonette, and Buck Johnson. Long Long Road will mark Starr’s 22nd studio release.
