Snail Mail Set to Release First Album in Five Years

Lindsey Jordan will be releasing her first album in 5 years on March 27. Ricochet will be Snail Mail’s third studio album and has been highly anticipated by fans. Jordan has been performing as Snail Mail since she was 15 years old, and initially gained attention with her 2015 EP Habit. Her debut release, Lush, was released in 2018. Lush was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Libera Awards and is highly regarded as one of the best Indie Rock albums of the 2010’s. Snail Mail followed up that success with Valentine in 2021. The sophomore album peaked at No. 6 on the US Top Rock Albums chart and No. 7 on the US Alternative Albums chart.

On January 20, the album’s first single, “Dead End,” was released along with a new music video. The single marked her return after five years. The track has a “grunge-gaze” sound, reminiscent of the 90s. A second single was released on February 18. “My Maker” was also released along with a music video. On March 25, a third single was released ahead of the new album. Snail Mail debuted the third single, “Tractor Beam,” with a performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Snail Mail Will Embark On a Tour Promoting The New Album

Along with the new album release on March 27, a tour has been announced. The tour kicks off in Milwaukee on April 10. Throughout April and May, Snail Mail will perform in the US in major cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, and Seattle. The tour will also make its way to Canada, stopping in Vancouver. In June, Snail Mail will take the tour to Europe with stops in Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, and London. On July 24, Snail Mail goes to Niigata, Japan, to perform at the Fuji Rock Festival. Snail Mail will be joined on the tour by Sharp Pins, Avalon Emerson and The Charm, @, The Swirlies, Armlock, and Rocket.

Ricochet was produced by Lindsey Jordan, along with Aron Kobayashi-Ritch. Previously, Jordan co-produced her second album, Valentine. The new album will be released through Matador Records on March 27.
