The Avett Brothers and Mike Patton Plan US Tour To Promote New Collaborative Project ‘AVTT/PTTN’

The Avett Brothers have established themselves as Americana treasures. The brothers from North Carolina have spent the last two decades following up each album’s success with another. In 2017, Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio directed May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers, capturing the Avett Brothers working in the studio with legendary producer Rick Rubin. Since then, the brothers have released three more hit records and also saw their music adapted to the Broadway show Swept Away. With their continued success, no one saw this new collaborative effort coming.

On November 14, 2025, the self-titled debut album called AVTT/PTTN was released. It’s a collaboration between The Avett Brothers and former Faith No More lead singer Mike Patton. The album was produced by Scott and Seth Avett, along with Mike Patton and Dana Nielsen. Mike Patton has been involved in many collaborations with artists over the years, including Björk, Sparks, The Melvins, and John Zorn.

The new AVTT/PTTN project banks heavily on The Avett Brothers’ bread and butter, Americana and folk-rock.

AVTT/PTTN US Tour Planned for April Through June

With tour dates booked in San Francisco, Nashville, and Brooklyn, The Avett’s and Mike Patton will perform across the US this spring. Mike Patton talked with Kyle Meredith of Consequence Daily about what we can expect with the upcoming tour.

Meredith asked Patton if the plan was to play all the songs from the new album. Patton responded with “We are. I’m pretty sure we’re playing all of them. The live show’s going to be fun, we’re working on it now. I’ve got a skeletal version of the setlist, it’s like 30-something songs.”

Patton went on to say, “We’ve got the AVTT/PTTN catalog, and obviously there’s a lot of Avett Brothers proper stuff. Some things from each of our back catalogs, which should be fun. And also, a bunch of really interesting covers. The band is really versatile and great, and we plan to make good use of all of it. We’ll break off into duos and trios, and there will probably be some gospel stuff thrown in there. Some covers may be unexpected. We could go a lot of different ways.”

Mike Patton has previously fronted rock groups Faith No More and Mr. Bungle. With this, Patton has more than enough songs to bring to the table as well.

The AVTT/PTTN tour begins in Louisville, KY, on Friday, April 10, 2026. The tour will wrap up in Waukegan, IL, on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
