The Recording Academy Announces 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Inductees

Fourteen new recordings will join the Grammy Hall of Fame this year.

The recordings span music history, with nine albums and five songs spanning nearly 100 years and a variety of genres. They include Alice Coltrane’s Journey in Satchidananda, Heart‘s Dreamboat Annie, Radiohead’s classic OK Computer, 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me, Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814, Selena’s Amor Prohibido, Funkaedelic’s Maggot Brain, Lucinda Williams’ Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Ella Jenkins’ children’s song “You’ll Sing a Song and I’ll Sing a Song,” The Soul Stirrers’ “Jesus Gave Me Water,” The Rouse Brothers’ “Orange Blossom Special,” and more. The oldest recording of the group is “Trouble in Mind” by Bertha “Chippie” Hill, released in 1926.

“It’s a privilege to recognize these influential recordings as the 2026 Grammy Hall Of Fame inductees,” Harvey Mason, Jr., CEO of The Recording Academy, said in a statement. “Each selection reflects the creativity, craft, and cultural impact that recorded music can carry across decades. We’re honored to help preserve these works and celebrate the artists and communities behind them, so their legacies continue to inspire generations to come.”

Recordings must “exhibit qualitative or historical significance” and be at least 25 years old to be eligible for induction. A special member committee chooses which recordings to induct, and the Recording Academy’s national board of trustees has the final say.

“The Grammy Hall Of Fame is a vital bridge between musicโ€™s past and presentโ€”honoring recordings that changed the way we listen, create and connect,” said Michael Sticka, President/CEO of the Grammy Museum. “We’re proud to celebrate this year’s class at the Grammy Hall Of Fame Gala this May.”

The inductees will be honored at the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala on May 8 in Los Angeles and will receive an official certificate from the Recording Academy. Performers will be announced at a late date. Tables and seats are on sale now.

The Grammy Hall of Fame was founded in 1973 as a way to honor records released before the first Grammy Award ceremony, held in 1959. The newest inductees bring the total number in the Hall of Fame to 1,179.
