Weezer Releases New Song “Shine Again” Along With Fall Tour Announcement

Weezer is back, releasing new music for the first time since 2022. Previously, Weezer released EPs in 2022 titled SNZN, one each for the spring, summer, and autumn seasons. Their last studio album was Van Weezer, released five years ago. A new album is in the works, but remains unannounced and untitled. It’s only been teased with the release of the new single. “Shine Again” steers Weezer back to their signature, fuzz-toned power-pop sound that many fans resonated with in the early to mid 2000’s. Previously, Weezer ventured into differing genres with elements of mainstream pop. Additionally, they released an album of covers, The Teal Album, and their classic rock-emulated album, Van Weezer. This release marks the return to the Weezer we all know and love, and are most familiar with.

“Shine Again” is a track that is exactly as it sounds. On top of the fuzz guitar tone, the lyrics are simply about how “the sun inside will shine again,” a track about devotion and perseverance. The song is set to inspire and give hope, reminding the listener that the sun within you will shine again in time. It was officially released on April 1 and was produced by Kenneth Blume, known professionally as Kenny Beats. Previously, Kenny Beats produced Getting Killed by Geese, which has garnered much praise as the band’s fourth studio album, released in September 2025.

Weezer Has Announced a Fall Tour with The Shins and Silversun Pickups

Weezer will be joined by indie rock legends The Shins, and alternative rock band Silversun Pickups on an upcoming tour. The arena tour, titled Weezer: The Gathering, was announced on March 26 and will be a 32-date North American tour. This fall, the tour kicks off in Sacramento on September 8. They will return to California, and wrap up the tour on October 24 in Los Angeles. They will make stops in major cities in the US, as well as Canada. Presale for the Arena tour go on sale on April 3.

Along with the tour announcement, Weezer announced a new fan experience event in Los Angeles. The event involves a Weezer-themed trivia night, a pickleball tournament against the band, and more exclusive events for their fans. Weezer is known for their cult following. This means the experience will be a dream come true for die-hard fans as they battle against each other in the trivia showdown.
