Rock music icon Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025. His death came a few short weeks after his farewell concert, Back to the Beginning. The concert reunited Black Sabbath and saw performances from many top rock acts. Ozzy performed with Black Sabbath, as well as members of his own band, such as Zakk Wylde, for the last time on July 5.
Less than a year later, longtime Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde is set to release his next studio album. His band Black Label Society has released four singles for the album. “The Gallows” was released on September 10, 2024. It was followed by “Name In Blood,” released on January 14, 2025. Next, “Lord Humungus” was released on February 21, 2025. And lastly, “Broken And Blind” was released on October 9, 2025. The new album, Engines Of Demolition, is set to be released on March 27, 2026. It features the yet-to-be-released song “Ozzy’s Song,” dedicated to the late great Ozzy Osbourne.
Ultimately, Zakk Wylde said the song would’ve never been written if Ozzy were still alive. The song was named by Wylde’s wife, who asked him to play the tune by calling it “Ozzy’s Song.” The song is a ballad driven by acoustic guitar and piano. It features a guitar solo played on Wylde’s iconic “Grail” guitar, his 1981 Gibson Les Paul custom guitar with his signature black-and-white bullseye design.

Wylde co-wrote “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” which became Ozzy’s highest-charting solo single, peaking at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, it peaked at No. 2 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. It was featured on the No More Tears album in 1991, with the album’s title track peaking at No. 5 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
With Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde played on six studio albums and three live albums. Wylde formed the heavy metal band Black Label Society in 1998. The band has released eleven studio albums and two live albums. Additionally, Engines Of Demolition will be the band’s first full-length effort since 2021’s Doom Crew Inc.
