George Lynch Announces 10-Date Tour ‘A Night Of Dokken’ Featuring All-Star Band

George Lynch is well known as one of the most innovative guitar players of the late 1970s and 1980s. Lynch was right there with Edward Van Halen and Randy Rhodes, pushing lead guitar abilities into new terrain. In the late 1970s, Lynch was a member of The Boyz. They were an LA Sunset Strip rock group that would often share bills with Van Halen and Quiet Riot, which featured future Ozzy guitarist Randy Rhoads. After The Boyz, Lynch briefly formed Xciter before joining Dokken, which is what he became known for.

George Lynch had auditioned for Ozzy Osbourne, but the position ultimately went to Randy Rhoads. He ended up taking over Rhoads’ job teaching guitar at a guitar shop owned by Randy’s mom. Following Rhoads’s untimely death in 1982, Lynch replaced temporary guitarist Brad Gillis, who was a member of Night Ranger and was only filling in on tour. Lynch was hired for 3 short days before being replaced by Jake E. Lee.

Lynch ‘A Night Of Dokken’ Tour Has Ten Dates Announced So Far

No venues have been named in the announcement, only cities and dates. Lynch himself announced the tour on his Instagram page, with ten dates announced. The tour kicks off in Fort Myers, FL, on December 31, 2026. Most of the dates announced are in the south, with most dates in Florida. His all-star band lineup will include current Great White singer Brett Carlisle, along with singer Terry Ilous, who was a founding member of XYZ and was once the singer for Great White. The singer Gabriel also joins the tour, and he’s also the current member of George Lynch’s Lynch Mob. Additionally, bassist Jaron Gulino of Whitesnake, and Gene Simmons’ drummer Brian Tichy round out the group.

Though Dokken is still touring in 2026, George Lynch is no longer a member of the group. The only remaining member of the classic lineup is singer Don Dokken. The classic lineup consisted of Don Dokken, George Lynch, Mick Brown on drums, and Jeff Pilson, who now plays bass in Foreigner. Breaking The Chains in 1981 was their debut album, and gave the band a huge push in the LA scene. The title track “Breaking The Chains” peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard Mainstream Chart, but set the band up for further success.

Other notable Dokken tracks from the 1980’s include “Alone Again” in 1984, “In My Dreams” in 1986, and “Burning Like A Flame” in 1987. The classic lineup disbanded in 1989, though Don Dokken revived the group in the 1990’s. He continues to tour as Dokken to this day, while George Lynch focuses on a solo career featuring an all-star band. His band, Lynch Mob, also continues to tour to this day. Lynch Mob released a live album titled The Final Ride (Live) on May 29.
