Millennials have been treated to large doses of nostalgia this year. With this, we’re seeing the return of a staple of most 90’s kids’ childhood. Hilary Duff is re-establishing herself as a global star. Duff released her new album, “Luck…or Something,” on February 20. The album is currently No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Two singles were released ahead of the album. “Mature” was the first single released on November 6, 2025. It peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. Additionally, the album’s second single, “Roommates,” was released on January 15, 2026. It peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Pop Airplay chart. The new album was produced by Duff’s husband, singer-songwriter Matthew Koma.

Hilary Duff saw significant success in the 2000s. She starred in the Disney Channel TV show Lizzie McGuire, which became a massive hit. The show ran from 2001 to 2004, averaging 2 million viewers per episode. The success of the show led to a major movie release in 2003, The Lizzie McGuire Movie. This propelled Duff into teen icon status. She released a Christmas album, Santa Claus Lane, in 2002. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Heat-seekers chart. Following this success, Duff signed with Hollywood Records.

Duff’s 2003 album Metamorphosis hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It contained her first big hit, “Come Clean.” She followed up with a self-titled album in 2004, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. She again earned a No. 1 album with Most Wanted in 2005. The new album is her highest-charting release since Dignity peaked at No. 3 in 2007.

In this song, Duff is trying to find truth in all that is happening around her. She just wants the rain to come down, everything to be truthful, and it all to come down clean. (thanks, Amina – Toronto, Canada)

Hilary Duff continued her acting career, starring in movies and television shows. She starred in TV Land’s longest-running original series, Younger. In 2022, Duff starred in How I Met Your Father, a standalone sequel to How I Met Your Mother. Duff has also co-authored a trilogy of novels.

The new album contains the track “We Don’t Talk,” an emotional song about her estranged relationship with her sister Haylie Duff. The two sang on a cover of The Go-Go’s “Our Lips Are Sealed” for the soundtrack of Duff’s 2004 film A Cinderella Story. Haylie had a singing career of her own, as well as starring in films and TV shows such as Napoleon Dynamite and 7th Heaven.
