  • This song finds Fältskog trading lines with Take That's Gary Barlow, who also co-penned the track. "We haven't even met," Faltskog revealed to the BBC. "I spoke to him once on the phone - but I was on holiday when he did his singing."
  • Agnetha Fältskog sang "I Should've Followed You Home" live with Barlow at the BBC Children in Need Rocks concert in London on November 12, 2013 (Barlow was the organizer of the event). It was her first live performance for 25 years.
  • "I Should've Followed You Home" is the fifth single from Fältskog's fifth English-language studio album, A. She recorded all 10 tracks for the record at Atlantis Studio, Stockholm with Swedish songwriter/producer Jorgen Elofsson (Britney Spears, Westlife, Kelly Clarkson).
  • As Fältskog and Elofsson approached the 10-year anniversary of A, they discussed what the album would sound like if it was created in 2023. They decided to explore the idea together and worked with producer Anton "Hybrid" Mårtensson to rework the whole record.

"A couple of years ago I heard one of the songs from my last album A on the radio. I have lots of fond memories from making that album, so I couldn't help but smile, time flies," Fältskog shared.

"Suddenly it hit me, what would the album sound like if we had made it today? I couldn't stop thinking about it. I reached out to the boys who produced A back in 2013 – 'What would you guys think about reimagining A and making a totally new version of it?' They loved the idea! 'Let's try!'"
  • Fältskog released a reimagined version of "I Should've Followed You Home" on September 29, 2023. It again features Barlow and the vocals are the original recordings, but the music is produced differently, with a fresh beat that kickstarts the song before Barlow starts singing, transforming the ballad into a dance-pop tune.
