Songfacts®:

  • This pop-rock song about the ending of a romantic relationship is the debut single from American Idol Season 8 contestant Allison Iraheta. The Southern California native was one of the youngest contestants ever (age 16) to make it into the Top 12 of the reality singing competition.
  • The song was written and produced by Swedish hitmaker Max Martin (Britney Spears, Pink, Kelly Clarkson). Iraheta recalled to PopEater that Martin "pulled it out of his magic box." She added: "He came up with an awesome song and sent it to me and we cut it and it was just amazing. He definitely knows how to put himself in other people's shoes."
  • Iraheta said of its lyrical content to PopEater: "It's a song everyone can relate to. It's a pretty simple song. It ain't too hard to understand. I think people will really just be like 'Yeah!' ... hopefully."
