Human Spirit

Album: Life In A Beautiful Light (2012)

Songfacts®:

  • Macdonald wrote this about the much publicised story of the survival and rescue of 33 Chilean miners who were trapped deep underground for more than two months in 2010. "How could you not be inspired by that story?" she said. "I felt compelled to write about it. I've always been a narrative songwriter, inspired by actual events. Every human emotion was etched on the faces of those miners' families. I went through most of them myself."
