This is the title track of Amy MacDonald's fourth album. She explained to The Sun: "One of my closest friends who was working in New York for the year and was very homesick. I spent a lot of time over there with her and the title track is a song about her experience and the time we spent together."
Asked by HMV.com when she settled on Under Stars as the album title, MacDonald replied: "Naming an album is always difficult because it's something you have to live with forever. I put a lot of thought into them and this time I choose 'Under Stars' because it's a song about one of my best friends. I wrote it as an opening track and it's a really good indication of what the album is all about."
Who writes a song about a name they found in a phone book? That's just one of the everyday things these guys find to sing about. Anything in their field of vision or general scope of knowledge is fair game. If you cross paths with them, so are you.
