Songfacts®:

  • In an interview with the New Musical Express December 15, 2007, frontman Alex Turner was asked what were his favorite songs on the album. Archer replied: "'This House Is A Circus.' That's the one. We got stuck on South America on the bus driving to the airport. There was a big jam and we were stuck for, like 5 hours. I forgot my iPod so we listened to the album. That was the only tune I wanted to listen to again. I was dead proud of that and 'If You Were There, Beware.'"
