  • Artemas Diamandis, known mononymously as Artemas, is an English-Cypriot singer-songwriter. His sound falls under the umbrella of alternative pop with a hint of R&B, creating catchy melodies and relatable lyrics.
  • He grew up in a small village in Oxfordshire, England. Artemas started piano lessons at age 6, but in his early teen years he wanted to be an actor rather than musician. It was only after watching the documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck that he started songwriting.

"I'm 16 years old, it's the school holidays and I'm just passing the time, and I came across this Nirvana documentary on Netflix and it changes my life," Artemas chuckled to Invertebrate. "I watched that documentary and pretty much as it ended, I almost made the decision in my head, 'I wanna be like him [Kurt Cobain], I wanna make music, I wanna play shows.' I just picked up a guitar - I played piano so it was easier to pick up - and I just started writing songs."
  • Artemas spent most of his waking hours during the pandemic in his bedroom perfecting his productions. He started releasing music in late 2020 with his first single, "High 4 U." By 2022, he was gaining support from BBC Radio 1, Apple Music, and Spotify.
  • During his rise, he was releasing a new track every three to five weeks, growing both his audience and his online fanbase. In October 2023, Artemas' single "If U Think I'm Pretty" went viral online, propelling him into the spotlight.
  • Artemas sings with an American twang because the first songs he listened to as a child were all by Red Hot Chili Peppers. "My mom is like the biggest Red Hot Chili Peppers fan ever, and so I kind of learned to sing doing impressions of Anthony Kiedis," he said.
