Aurora explained the song's meaning to The 405: "It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember."
Aurora told Billboard the first song that she ever wrote was a "very sad song about death or something." She added that she ended up borrowing a few lines from that tune for this track.
