Songfacts®:

  • This track is about Aurora's childlike philosophy. "That song is about how I'd rather see the world through the eyes of a child because everything is a bit better," she explained to The Independent. "I care a lot about people's inner child and I am very determined to never lose my inner child. I get why we need all these layers to survive. It is a very tough world [and] I think sometimes we forget that child, sometimes we lose it and I think that's a bad thing."
  • Aurora performed "Through The Eyes Of A Child" live at the Songs For Gaza concert on November 26, 2023 in Oslo. She modified some lyrics to address the war in the Gaza Strip and Israel.
  • "Through the Eyes of a Child" appears during the final moments of Netflix's 2025 series Adolescence. Emilia Holliday, who plays the role of the murder victim Katie, performs the song.

Aurora said of its use in the show: "The deep need for the world to stop neglecting the inner child, and confusing innocence with weakness. I hope the song gives people something good. It was always written in the hope that it would find people and treat them kindly. Though it's strange to me, that it's out there living its own life- I find it very beautiful."
