  • "Promise Me" finds Josh Katz singing about holding on as long as he can to love and the hope of youth.

Don't make me face the truth that I'm dying soon
    That we're dying

Katz admitted to Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez that his fear of getting older and of death often seeps into his lyrics. "I really value my youth and the way that I look and the way that I feel," he said. "I'm afraid of growing up and I'm afraid of dying, so I think that comes up as a theme pretty frequently. I don't know if I would say 'obsession,' I don't think I'm obsessed with it. I'm not like one of those gothic guys whose always wearing the Hot Topic stuff."
  • The song's music clip tells the love story between two people from childhood to old age. "I hope to have the spirit of the characters we've created in this video," said Katz. "I hope to stay young at heart no matter what happens throughout the course of my life."
