Songfacts®:

  • This song is about two lovers trying to let go of their love as they live thousands of miles apart.
  • The second verse tells the true story of the astronaut Lisa Nowak, who had a crush on her fellow astronaut William Oefelein. In 2007 she drove for 14 hours from Houston to Florida, before kidnapping Colleen Shipman, the girlfriend of Oefelein, whom she saw as her love rival. It was claimed that Nowak wore a diaper during her journey as so determined was she to remove Shipman from the equation that nothing, not even potty breaks, was going to stop her.
