The third single by the American boy band Big Time Rush was debuted on July 1, 2011 at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego, California. It was officially released to iTunes on July 22, 2011 the day before it aired on "Big Time Single," an episode of their TV show, Big Time Rush. The episode features the BTR boys trying to cheer up the newly single Kendall after his girlfriend Jo left Los Angeles to pursue an acting opportunity in New Zealand.
The song features R&B and hip hop artist Iyaz, though he doesn't appear in the version broadcast on the Nickelodeon show. The song is the second Big Time Rush single to include a rapper, following the Snoop Dogg featuring "Boyfriend."
When "Nothin' On You" reached #1 on the Hot 100, B.o.B became the first American act whose name is a palindrome to top the chart. The other two who did so prior to the Atlanta rapper were both Scandinavian groups - ABBA and A-Ha.
David Bowie's "Space Oddity" tells the story of an astronaut who cuts off communication and floats into space. The BBC used it extensively in their coverage of the 1969 moon landing - an odd choice considering the lyrics.
