This Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins (Beyonce, Michael Jackson) produced song is a bonus track on Britney Spears' seventh album, Femme Fatale. It's the rockiest number on the record and even features blink-182 stickman Travis Barker manning the drumkit. Jerkins told Showbiz Tonight: "I brought in Travis Barker, and it's got this rock feel, which is out of the box, out of my norm. I think it's out of her [Spears'] norm as well. We had a great time making this record."
"Crank That (Soulja Boy)" was the most successful digital track of 2007 in the US with 2,909,000 downloads. On January 6, 2008 it became the first song ever to sell 3 million digital copies in the States.
