I just woke up one morning and my girlfriend was frantically running around the apartment in a rush to get dressed and get on with the day. I was just sitting there in bed watching all this action going on then right after she left, I got on a phone call with a friend and he was going on and on about all that he had to do. All he didn't have the time to do, so why bother etc... so, once I hung up with him I picked up my guitar and wrote 'The Mountain.'"
