This song is named after Caribou's sound engineer, who died in her mid-50s a week after being diagnosed with cancer. The song is a tribute to seeing her on the last day she was alive. In 2010 Julia told friends that she was a transgender woman, and began the process of transition.
"Cleveland Rocks" was written by an Englishman. Ian Hunter wrote the song after touring America in the late '70s and finding that Cleveland was by far the most receptive city to his brand of Glam Rock.
