  • Chris Lane married Lauren Bushnell, the winner of the 20th season of The Bachelor, on October 25, 2019, in Nashville. He wrote this personal track to play when he proposed to Lauren in her parents' backyard. "I'mma put a diamond on her hand," he declares.
  • Chris Lane ran his proposal plans by Brad Paisley when they were touring together. The "Remind Me" singer admitted to People that he advised against it. "I had some friends on the [tour] bus, and they were all like, 'That sounds pretty awesome,'" Paisley recalled. "And I'm like, 'Don't do that.'"

"I'm glad he didn't listen to me, because it worked out great," he added.
  • The Justin Clough-directed romantic video captures Chris Lane's wedding ceremony and reception at the Nashville wedding venue 14TENN.
  • Chris Lane took on a similar topic when filming the video for his 2016 single "For Her." That clip is a true-life love story, which sees a Chris Lane fan pull off an elaborate surprise proposal to his girlfriend.
  • Chris Lane co-wrote the song with Ernest K Smith and Jacob Durrett. The trio didn't set out to pen it about the singer's marriage plans, but after three failed attempts to complete the tune, it finally took shape once Lane shared his intention to drop down on one knee.

"Starting out, I had no idea I was going to end up writing a song that I would later propose with," the singer told American Songwriter. "We couldn't figure out a bridge. I made mention that I might propose in the next couple of months, so maybe we can write a proposal into the song. It forced us to go back and rewrite a few different verse ideas. But we already had the hook, so it fell together."
  • Ernest K Smith used to be a hip-hop artist, and Lane sometimes put his freestyle skills to use in the writers' room to deliver lyrics. "I just hand him the mic, and he'll go off, and I can just start to pull nuggets from what he's putting out there," he told American Songwriter.

That's how Lane and the other writers started "Big, Big Plans."
