  • Frontman Chris Martin told Zane Lowe on his BBC1 Radio show that the song's opening was created by the band's sound engineer Daniel Green. Martin stuck it in as a demo and it stayed there.

    Martin added that the song features the voice of his daughter, Apple. "Actually, my daughter is singing in there a little bit as well," he said. "That was just an idea of togetherness through life's challenges."
