Cook told Billboard magazine: "I love the tongue-in-cheek aspect of that [this song]. Love is obviously a four-letter word, but it's also implying that love is a curse word. It's a jaded view on love, but it fit into the back-half of this record."
Michael Jackson's "Liberian Girl" opens with the South African female singer Letta Mbulu saying the Swahili phrase "Naku penda piya-naku taka piya-mpenziwe." There was some geographic liberty here, as Swahili is not spoken in the West African nation of Liberia.
"Pink Cadillac" was a B-side for Bruce Springsteen in 1984, but after Aretha Franklin sang about pink Cadillacs on "Freeway Of Love" the following year, Natalie Cole covered the song and had a hit with it in 1988.
