  • "Toot Sweets" was written by the Sherman Brothers for the 1968 musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; the sweets in question are the invention of Caractacus Potts - played by Dick Van Dyke. In the film he sings it to the irascible sweet factory owner Lord Scrumptious - who is played by James Robertson Justice - the father of Truly Scrumptious, his soon to be companion, and accompanied by a choreographed chorus. >>
