Songfacts®:

  • The 19th single by British post-hardcore band Enter Shikari was debuted on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio One show on June 10, 2013. Singer Rou Reynolds explained its meaning: "The song is about 'suppression of expression,' which is a bit of a tongue twister that I actually used to have as an exercise in my vocal warm ups before going on stage!" he said. "It was influenced by the despotic regimes throughout the world that outlaw the creation and performance of original music in all its wonderfully different forms."
  • This song was played by the BBC as Andy Murray walked out on court for the 2013 Wimbledon final, which he won.
  • Some of the vocals for this were recorded outside in the middle of winter. The idea behind it was to bring out the vulnerability in the lyrics. Rou Reynolds told Kerrang: "It's a trick we've done a few times and it always adds a natural quiver to the voice!"
