I really think this relates to the anger he felt after Kurt got deep into his addictions and passed on, basically ending the Nirvana ride. When you lose someone to their addiction you not only feel remorse and deep pain, but you're angry too. You think about everything they had going for them, everything they could be, everything they could have been, and what has been lost. You're mad they left you here to pick up the pieces. You're mad that you have to grieve them. You're mad that they left you with this pain. You're mad at yourself. With the heavy guitars and drums in the middle of the song, you can feel that anger and pain being released.

If you can't tell from what you see and hear, then you don't want to see it, and it wouldn't help if it was titled "Courtney killed Kurt." People would say-"he knew other folks named Courtney and Kurt." He wanted his feelings out there with out doing an interview and hear you have it IMO.

Hearts gone cold and hands were tied!" Another thing is that the person they loved had a different side they'd never seen and it wasn't part of the person they fell in love with and that's shown on the line "I've seen your face in another light" and it shows that that person could've been a cheater.

• Kevin from Dallas, TxThis song is amazing. The lyrics are haunting, but the actual music really sets the tone. It's an auditory depiction of the transition from sadness and sorrow to full blown rage. It starts off as a soft, mournful guitar piece. Then comes the soft drum beat and then the bass. These lead into the hardcore guitar and drums. Grohl's voice accentuates the transition as he starts the song in a mournful tone, slowly increases the volume, and by the end of the song, he is screaming at the top of his lungs. An absolutley amazing song showing the progression of emotions from sorrow to rage.
