Songfacts®:

  • Gloriana's Tom Gossin wrote this song with his brother Mike about bandmate Rachel Reinert's tumultuous relationship with an emotionally manipulative boyfriend. "Seeing Rachel, who is almost like a sister, being held under this dude's grip even though all signs were pointing to get away from this guy, I've seen that so many times with friends of mine who are female." he recalled to Radio.com solemnly.

"Mike and I went in and wrote the song from that perspective," Gossin added. "It's a really cool exercise, writing about someone else's life. That was almost our tribute to what Rachel was going through at the time and I think she appreciated it."

The man was a different dude to the cheating boyfriend that Rachel Reinert sings about on Gloriana's single "Trouble."
