Songfacts®:

  • Morrison's third album The Awakening was influenced by his becoming a father, and this song was inspired by the adjustment he and his girlfriend, Gill, had to make in becoming parents to their daughter, Elsie. He explained to The Daily Mail: "Gill wanted to be a mum all her life and when it happened it was a shock. I don't have a nine-to-five job, so it makes things harder for her. Yes, she could come on tour, but I need to separate my work from my home life. I could never be like Peter Andre and Jordan, selling your story and all that stuff. The more I keep it private, the more I have got control."
  • Morrison previously wrote about another rocky patch in his relationship with Gill in a track on his first album called "The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore."
