Songfacts®:

  • Former Klaxons keyboardist James Righton married English actress Keira Knightley on May 4, 2013. They've had two girls since their nuptials; Edie, born in May 2015, and Delilah, born in September 2019. Righton recorded this ode to his oldest daughter as the lead single from his debut solo album.
  • Righton admitted to Q magazine that he's always "cringed" when other musicians have released songs about their children, but then he "somehow managed" to write a song about Edie. "My only dilemma is now that I've written a song about my first born, what am I going to do about Delilah?" he added. "Obviously there's a Tom Jones one, but if I do write one it can't just be a B-side. I've really shot myself in the foot!"
