Songfacts®:

  • Joe Lynn Turner wrote this during his stint as lead vocalist for Deep Purple, and it appeared on the band's 1993 album, The Battle Rages On, under the title "One Man's Meat." Turner had just been fired from the group and reclaimed several of the tracks on his solo releases. He explains the song's meaning: "It centers around a classic bluesy riff and lyrically is about a dancer who leads two lives - a private life and a life on stage as every man's fantasy. There's a real person underneath that image people see and we want to know who she really is!" >>>
