Songfacts®:

  • Joey Hyde was raised in the small town of Kentwood, Michigan, by his pastor father and mother. After moving to Nashville he managed to get some some song placements, including co-penning The Swon Brothers' debut single "Later On."
  • This is his debut single, which Hyde penned with a couple of his pals. He admitted the song comes with no pretense. "There's no metaphors in it. We're not hiding anything," Hyde said with a laugh. "This song's about getting your friends together and drinking in the backyard."
