John Newman explained to Genius
how Harris came up with the song.
"Calvin Harris presented the lyrics to me in a very strong Scottish accent singing in bad falsetto. He had it written down on a piece of paper in a studio. That was it really. The first day he played it to me it was a groover and I didn't like it. I was just like, I don't know what it is. And he said, 'It's just a vibe, just a vibe. Just enjoy it.'
And then he played it for ten minutes looping around, just the guitar part. I'm still not getting this. And I got in a bit of a huff, a bit of a mood. He said, 'Right, right we'll try something else,' so we went in the next day and he wanted to continue. Overnight, he wrote all of these stunning, incredible lyrics for these amazing melodies. Once I heard that I said, 'OK, I'm yours.'"
